          Wa Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo(IV)

On Thursday, July 15, 2021, the Overlord of the Wala Traditional Area in consultation with his traditional Council banned all Islamic preachings( Daawa) to July 28, 2021. The Overlord said the ban was to stop the spate of retributory preachings threatening the peace in the municipality. The statement announcing the ban, stated that all preachings(Daawa) on radio stations in the municipality and sermons posted on social media were hereby banned, permitting only Friday sermons but expected to be done with extreme circumspection.

The Overlord of the Wala Traditional Area and President of the Wala Traditional Council, Wa Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo (IV)  extended the ban on Islamic religious preaching(Daawa) placed in the traditional area. The temporary ban of all Islamic preachings which was earlier expected to end on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, was extended for a further one week that  will  expire on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.

The Overlord said the ban extension was to give enough time for the Overlord and the Council to gather guidelines for preaching from recommendations made by all the stakeholder. In a statement signed by Naa Ali Seidu Pelpuo, Paramount Chief of Busa and Vice President to the Wala Traditional Council, and copied to all media houses in the municipality, the overload commended the strict compliance accorded the just ended ban by religious leaders.
