POLICE RECRUITMENT : Ghana police service is Recruiting people for now

There have been fake news trending on the recruitment of Ghana police.

In an press statement sighted by royalmediaghgh1.blogspot.com on the Police and Media platform, the Ghana police service says it is not advertising recruitment nor undertaking recruitment process.
According to the release, signed by Shella Kesie A bayle-Backman (Mrs) the Superintendent of Police, the recruitment exercises are first published in the major dialies, atleast the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times news papers prior to the start of the recruitment process.

The statement further says, presently, Police recruits who started training in February this year at the various training schools in Accra, Koforidua , Ho, Kumasi and Pwalugu are in training and undergoing the scheduled training exercise.
Contrary to speculations by some persons that police is in the breach of the law,the ongoing training of police recruits is in accordance with law Regulations 4 of the extended imposition of restrictions (Coronavirus Disease pandemic)Instrument,2020[E_I.64] exempts Security Services including the Ghana Police service from restrictions under the regulations.

Information reaching the media indicates that, the Police Administration has however put in place measures to ensure that social distancing is maintained between and among recruits.  These are an addition to enhance hygiene procedures directed the President of Ghana,and that adequate measures have also been put in place to sufficiently manage any issues of Covid 19 that may arise at any of the Police training facilities.

The police therefore says anyone who wants to verify whether the Police service is recruiting or not,you can call the Police Toll free number 18555 or the National Unified Code 112. In The announcement, the Police also encouraged the public to report any person (s) who make false claim of recruitment to the nearest Police Station for arrest and prosecution.
