THE WA NAA'S PALACE - DR.RASHID PELPUO

Wa Naa's Palace: A hundred years ago the Wa Naa's Palace was built in a moorish Sudanese style depicting the symbol of power and authority of the Wa Naa and a venue for display of our cultural heritage.
A people without their cultural heritage are a lost generation.
The Wa Naa knowing this, declared that the authority of the Wa Naa must reflect his residence and his heritage . He declared that Wa was a greater power than was ever reckoned and upon that declaration decided to build the Palace as we have it today
The Wa Naa at the time (Naa PELPUO III) then went on to reinstate the Dumba festival which had been lost after slave maraunders scattered Wa years before he was born.
If God permit Wa will be celebrating the Centenary of the Palace this Year 2020.

Built by Naa Yamusa Pelpuo III, 1920
