In relation to a story aired by Radio Progress about the sad story of a 20-year old Iddrisu Najaha, who is suffering from a hole-in-heart since 2019 when she was in SHS and still suffering from the ailments up to date.
Doctors said Najaha,who is currently a level 100 student of Simon Diedong Dombo University for Business and Integrated Development Studies (SSD-UBIDS) has to undergo a surgery at the National Cardiothoracic Centre at the Korle Bu Teaching hospital and that her ailment needs an amount of $6000 equivalent to Ghc40, 000. 00 and which is above the strength of Najaha's family and they are calling for assistance from the public, individuals and organizations.
It is on this background that EDUFUND through its president made a donation to the family of Iddrisu Najaha on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at its office in Wa.
Mr Moomin Seidu, secretary of the Education Development Fund for Muslim Youth (EDUFUND), said their outfit saw the need to assist in the surgery instead of education.
Adding that, they heard the sad and touching story of Iddrisu Najaha about three weeks ago and decided to deviate a slightly from their core mandate of assisting Islamic student education rather to contribute their and support the surgery.
Meanwhile, the president of EDUFUND, Mr Musah Dansieh, also prayed for the family and said everyone have to seeks Allah’s guidance for a successful surgery.
“The donation is in support of our dear sister and daughter Najaha Iddrisu to help her do the surgery that she is about to undergo. We pray that God will facilitate the process and grant her healing so that she comes to continue her education, Aameen,” Mr Dansieh added.
Father of the hole-in-heart patient expressed his heartfelt gratefulness to EDUFUND for the support.
Adding that they have come far because he belived that people are wealthier than him and can support him and his family hence them soliciting for funds to treat his first child.
