Ban on Islamic Preachings is extended to a further one week - Wa Naa

 Wa Naa extends ban on Islamic Preaching to August 4,2021.

The Overlord of the Wala Traditional Area and President of the Wala Traditional Council, Wa Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo (IV) has extended the ban on Islamic religious preaching(Daawa) placed in the traditional area.

The temporary ban of all Islamic preachings which was earlier expected to end on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, has been extended for a further one week that  will  expire on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.



The Overlord said the ban extension was to give enough time for the Overlord and the Council to gather guidelines for preaching from recommendations made by all the stakeholder.

In a statement signed by Naa Ali Seidu Pelpuo, Paramount Chief of Busa and Vice President to the Wala Traditional Council, and copied to all media houses in the municipality, the overload commended the strict compliance accorded the just ended ban by religious leaders.



Naa Fusieni Seidu Pelpuo IV, concluded by calling on all affected persons in the matter to restraint and comply with the second ban and also assured that the comprehensive preaching manual being put together will solve the problem permanently.


The release on the extension of this second band was copied to various individuals and organizations including: Regional Security Council (RESEC), Municipal Security Council (MUSEC), the Municipal and Regional Police commanders, National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), the Yeri Naa (Supreme Spiritual leader of the area), head of the Tendamba (Custodians of the land), Registrar of the Waala Traditional area and leaders of all the religious sects.


On Thursday, July 15, 2021, the Overlord of the Wala Traditional Area in consultation with his traditional Council  banned all Islamic preachings( Daawa) to July 28, 2021.


The Overlord said the ban was to stop the spate of retributory preachings threatening the peace in the municipality.


The statement announcing the ban, stated that all preachings(Daawa) on radio stations in the municipality and sermons posted on social media were hereby banned, permitting only Friday sermons but expected to be done with extreme circumspection.
