The Electoral Commission of Ghana has on Friday, 26th June,2020 has released a press statement saying that,there will be team of registration officials in each District Office of the Commission throughout the country from Thursday,2nd July to August6 6th 2020.
The press release explains that, qualified applicants of 60 years of age and above, pregnant women as well as lactating mothers and persons with disability may visit the district offics between the hours of7:00AM to 6:00PM each day to register.
In the Press release, the EC further says applicants who wish to go to the district offices for their registration can download and print the registration form1A and Guarantors form in color(where necessary)from the Electoral Commission's website at www.ex.gov.gh, have their details filled and present them to the registration team to facilitate the registration process.
It is also stated in the press release that, each applicant is to present a valid passport or Ghana card which is also known as the National Identification Card to prove their eligibility to register. Any applicant who does not have any of the above documents needs to provide two persons each who already have registered to serve as guarantors.
The Commission says it will enforce strict protocols at each district office across the country to protect applicants from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Commission urges all eligible persons to register to enable them vote during the forthcoming Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
