It is A Good Idea to Ban public Gatherings ---UPPER WEST NPP SECRETARY AND NDC SECRETARY

As part of drastic measures to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, banned nearly all public gatherings but exempted businesses that entail gatherings such as nightclubs, instructing such businesses to observe enhanced hygiene practices.
Some people are worried over the ban and others too are happy about it.

The Secretaries to both NDC and NPP said they are all happy about the ban because it will help protect the nation against the deadly coronavirus.
The NDC secretary of the upper west region, Mr. Salifu Tawaa says despite their political colours they will help the president to make this ban a successful one in order to save lives, he said they will comply with the ban by not organizing political gatherings. Mr. Tamaa further urged the government to do well to close all borders to make the country safe.

The NPP secretary, Mr. Osma Hamid on other hand says, though their government is in power, they will try their best to also stop political gatherings following the ban period to make the country a safer one.

“All Universities, Senior High Schools, and basic schools, i.e. public and private schools, will be closed Monday, 16th March, 2020, till further notice. The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication, has been tasked to roll out distance learning programmes. However, BECE and WASSCE candidates will be allowed to attend school to prepare for their examinations, but with prescribed social distancing protocol.
Some Ghanaians are wondering why the president has banned church gatherings for the next four weeks.
