On the 16th February 2020, the President and a member of the debate society, Mr Yakubu Hussein Pumaya and Mr Osman Abudu respectively were interview on Sungmaale FM at 2:15 pm by Sir Imma JNR on PEP-TALK show.
Even though the general performance was awesome but we had no support from the SRC.
According to the President, Mr Yakubu Hussein Pumaya, on 1st January 2020, The UDS Wa Debate Society received an invitation from the Debate Society of UDS Tamale Campus to participate in the maiden HARMATTAN DEBATE AND PUBLIC SPEAKING TOURNAMENT. The tournament was scheduled to commence on Friday, 25th January 2020 and end on Sunday, 26th January 2020.
We were given 2 slots and a judge, meaning that 5 participants from our campus. The arrangement did not include accommodation, transportation and feeding. In light of that, we wrote to the Academic Committee of the SRC for support. Participants decided to foot the bill for their feeding and accommodation. But we needed the support of the SRC with regards to our transportation to Tamale Campus and back. For days, no reply was gotten from the chairman.
