The interdicted Upper West Regional Director of Education, Mr Duncan Nsoh has finally granted audience to the media in the Upper West Region ton Tuesday,18th February 2020 when it appears it is too late to mend the fences. This is coming at a time a committee has been set up by the Director General of education Professor Kwasi Adu Amankwa to investigate him. It appears the then GES Regional Director has been ill advised at this crucial time to open up to the media. A committee has been set or yet to set up to probe his activities based on allegations of corruption.
The media in the region attempted to get his side of the story but the then Regional Director Mr Duncan Nsoh flatly refused to meet the media let alone talk to the media on these wide range of allegations leveled against him. The press organised by the interdicted Upper West Regional Director of education has not got any matter of substance in it to the say least.
He said he decided to meet the media now to tell them that his not meeting the media during the entire period of the brouhaha surrounding him stemmed from the fact that he needed to express permission from the Director General of Education to be able to do so since according to him GES administration is often run without the media. Adding that his interdiction was in the right step since superiors have every right to interdict their juniors.
Mr. Nsor didn't show any sign of seriousness when he said that what worried him most when he was interdicted was the inability of his friends with donor organizations and non governmental organizations who did not enjoy their Valentine's Day upon hearing of his problem. He said his interdiction is never the first of its kind since the GES has in the past interdicted their staff for an investigation to be conducted on them.
Mr Nsor said he is of the strongest conviction that at the end of the day he will be exonerated by the committee set up to investigate him.
Asked whether the allegations leveled against him are true, he parried the question off saying that since a committee has been set to investigate all matters affecting him he will not in any way want to prejudice the outcome of the committee's work and was quick to admit that he was very surprised about all allegations leveled against him and that he is prepared to accept the outcome of the committee's work. Taking pride of himself, he said he's the only "Director One" in the entire Upper West Region since the year 2018.
According to him he's yet to know the nature of the committee set up to investigate him and the calibre of persons involved.
Asked whether there is any element of regret associated with his been a Regional Director of GES for the Upper West Region. Replying; he said that should be part of what he described as occupational hazards of his professional career.
He said he does not in anyway know his accusers and still maintained that he's never corrupt. Sounding more philosophical Mr Duncan Nsoh said good men suffer for their good work and concluded that all duty bearers in the Upper West Region truly recognized his role as a Regional Director of Education and as a workaholic.
It is quite intriguing that the then Regional Director of Education Mr Duncan Nsoh has finally opened up to the media at time things have gone out of hand.
Given his stature as a senior officer with the GES, one wonders why he will open up to the media when a committee has been set up to investigate him, the same person who will not speak to the media to give his side of the story when contacted earlier when the heat was on him.
