The outbreak of Covid-19 has affected every aspect of life. This is why organizations have consciously made several donations to help combat the novel Corona virus.
The President of the Upper West Lawyers Bar, Lawyer Clement Elledi, donated the PPEs worth ten-thousand cedis (GHC10,000.00) on behalf of the Bar, to the Upper West Judicial Service and Upper West regional directorate of Ghana health services
"The President of the upper west Bar, lawyer Clement Elledi said the secretary, Lawyer Ubeidu Sidik and myself, the Executives of the Upper West Region Bar, decided to appeal to our colleagues across the country to also contribute, so that we can give back to the society that has made us what we are today. So the donation that we are going to do today to the Judicial Service, and the Ghana health services of the Upper West Region is on behalf of all Lawyers, and not only Lawyers but Judges that come from this part of the world called Upper West.
which took place at the forecourt of the WA High Court.
According to the President of the Bar, it is better late than never and he added that, it is their widows might towards the fight of the Corona virus.
However, the group also proceeded to the Upper West regional health directorate, President of the Lawyers Bar, Mr. Clement, reiterated to the regional health Director to ensure that all districts across the region have their share, “even though we know this will not be enough”
Receiving the items on behalf of the judicial service was
His Honour, Bar Forson Agyepong, a Judge at the Wa Circuit Court, said on behalf of the Supervising High Court and Staff of the Upper West Judicial Service, I would want to express my profound gratitude to the President of the Bar and his entourage for their kind gesture.
"Yes, we have been supplied PPEs, but they are consumables; as you use, they deplit. So this is a very timely intervention, since our stock is going down." he said.
He added that we should not relax until Corona virus is completely eradicated.
"We should still observe the protocols so that it will go completely." he added.
As the fight against Corona virus is still on, we must all together fight hard.
The acting regional Director of the Upper West Region, Dr. Dermian Pungyiri also shares his warmers gratitude to the organization for its king gesture
He added that more of such will be welcomed by benevolent individuals and civil society organizations to keep the zero cases recorded in the region, it takes a lot of work to achieve that
