Wa: WPP gives 100 Youth a capacity building on Soap And Disinfectant.
Unemployment rate is getting higher and it has a lot of negative effects on the youth.
In order to reduce this unemployment rate, Women's Powering Possibilities(WPP) under the aucpices of Madam Nancy A.Dery( CEO) and Madam Josephine Agyeakum( aHumanitarian and women advocate), have been training the youth on so many capacity building skills in many parts of the country and today, Saturday, 19 June 2021 it has turned to the Upper West region which took place at Puopeli FM premises,Wa.
One hundred young men and women in the Upper West Region are beneficiaries of today's training from WPP, they have been schooled and trained on how to manufacture liquid soap, bar soap, Detol and disinfectants and also how to detect an early stroke.
Speaking to the Media, CEO of WPP, Madam Nancy Dery said the capacity building and training for the youth is aimed at helping to unearth their individual potentials and also to equip them with the needed skills in setting up their own business for them to be massively empowered and eradicate poverty .
Madam Nancy said young men and women have the potential of becoming rich in society if they have a business or something doing to cater for themselves and family. This she said will help encourage and strengthen the idle and lazy young boys and girls to compete in self employment in order to become better persons in society rather than waiting for government to employ them.
The workshop is a skill training and self development workshop that will empower them and build their capacities so that when they get back to their various communities they will serve as change makers.
"I believe that everybody must help someone in every society, it doesn't matter whether you know the person or not. Everyone has the potential of being rich, it’s just the matter of unearthing it and giving them the platform” she indicated.
The CEO of WPP also urged the public to always assist and provide basic needs as well as mentor the youth especially teenage girls in order for them not fall foul for young men to lure them to impregnate them. She noted that teenage pregnancy can be reduced if parents and stakeholders give the necessary support to the vulnerable girl child in society to establish their own businesses or just to have something doing.
One of the team members of WPP, Madam Jisephine Agyeakum,(Humanitarian and Women's advocate) also delivered a presentation on the topic, “How to Determine an early stroke and How to assist a choking victim”, she said it is only the old people that can get stroke but a young person about thirty years can also get stroke.
She therefore recommended that everybody should always do exercise and if you suspects that part of your body is not functioning as usual, you should go to the hospital and seek for medical attention.
The beneficiaries are so happy for WPP for giving them the training, and said they understand every part of the training and it will help them and make their life better because they will start doing the business.
