According to Mr Augustine A Mwaawaaru, research has shown that the COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a new virus. It originated from a bat, which can be spread from person to person.

Coronavirus is dangerous so we should adhere to precautions. Prevention involves frequent hand-wash with running water and medicated soap, apply hand sanitizer, keep social distance, and in-inhalation.

He further advised the public to drink more water, exercise regularly, eat more fruits and take vitamins C to boost their immune system.

The epidemiologist and a health tutor, Mr Augustine, made known to the public it is unfortunate that Obuasi which has a recorded case rather have inadequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the government hospital. He pleaded, that the government should come to their aid whilst the hospital is also putting measures in place against the virus.

With his view on the President's Address in respect of its move to recruit retired nurses to augment the effort of the already employed ones could be dangerous to the nation, and the retirees themselves, because their immune system is weak given their ages. He recommended that the government should employ unemployed nurses since they are young, and their immune system is strong.
